Wetland restoration works in Niraj valley

Focus Eco Center together with  the local people and  in association with the municipality of Galesti started a wetland restoration project in Niraj valley. Firstly were identified the former lakes, wetlands which were dried out and were tested different techniques to restore these lakes and wetlands. For restoration works were used only natural materials, as wood, stones and argillaceous soil. At the territory of Galesti municipality were realized 9 restoration works. The wetland restoration works resulted with several benefices:  regulation of the water regime, retention of the water and increasing the level of the ground water, regulation of the micro climate, increasing the biodiversity, habitat for wildlife, water for agriculture, tourism destination.
